With analysts predicting $1,500 billion dollars of worldwide business-to-business and business-to-consumer e-commerce sales by 2003, the impact of web technology on industry cannot be underestimated. As more and more consumers use the internet as a means of purchasing, they are demanding improved services, whilst shareholders are looking for improved value. All this means that the economy is in the middle of a radical transformation. What we are experiencing is the Network Revolution, comparable to the Industrial Revolution. Supply chain E-business is changing the make-up of the entire supply chain. Today's market sees consumers demanding goods and services where and when they want them, and tailored to specific needs.
