2001 brings job bonanza Competition between consultancies looks set to intensify in 2001, for new recruits as well as for business. According to the latest survey from the UK’s Management Consultancies Association (MCA), around 3,000 new consultants will be recruited by MCA member firms this year. That represents an increase of 17% on the current number of consultants employed. All firms interviewed said they planned to recruit more consultants in 2001 than in 2000, with over a quarter of firms planning to take on more than 200. Bruce Petter, the MCA’s executive director, said that after the first ‘e-year’ “all the signs point to extremely healthy growth in the consultancy market. The fact that many of our member firms are planning serious recruitment programmes for 2001 reflects the growing demand from all types of organisations for high quality management consultancy to help them take advantage of the opportunities offered by the new economy.” |
