Do’s and don’ts
Some companies still have not taken the SCM plunge in these difficult times. Other organisations are advanced, but some are not even aware of the technology, and that is a huge differentiator. These companies need to look at what has to change for them to get where they want to be. Companies have to be realistic about what SCM can and cannot do. Some companies have the ability to see quick results from one large-scale effort. Others could take years to see results. The technology aspects are harder to quantify.
For companies that are ready to get into SCM, it is important that they take into account five key considerations: people, process, technology, organisation and strategy.
