How does it work in practice?
Say the night truck from Strasbourg to Munich left an hour ago, but now a key customer phones to add five pallets to be delivered first thing tomorrow to a construction site in Munich.

On the old system, if there was no spare capacity at the Strasbourg depot that was the end of the story. But with agent technology the system records the local capacity/freight mismatch, analyses alternative transport/capacity options in near real time and flags the Nancy/Munich night truck which will soon pass nearby (all trucks are GPS tracked) as the best option.
