To simplify support, Embarcadero standardised on a single platform for both sites. It has one Hewlett-Packard XP-256 array at each site, connected over four Escon channels to CNT UltraNet Storage Directors. Communication between sites is via DS-3 connections.
The organisation felt that the strengths of HP’s storage solutions combined with what it regarded as CNT’s innovations in storage networking would create a seamless and secure disk mirroring solution that would meet all the requirements of a growing, highly-available data centre operation like Embarcadero’s.
