Volantia

Volantia is an information extraction software product company. It was founded in June 2000 by Dr Gerardo Lemus, a PhD graduate of Massachusetts Institute of Technology. UK-based, the company has since grown rapidly to be one of the leading companies of its kind in Europe.

Volantia specialises in the extraction of information from unrestricted/unstructured data sources. Extraction is more complex and advanced than information retrieval – ie, search engines – where the goal is the retrieval of the articles/documents containing the information of interest. Extraction addresses the need to collect the information from within these documents or sources.
