In theory, the outcome of any collaboration should be mutual gain. However in practice, as collaboration involves an exchange of information, it exposes one or both parties to strategic risk.
The above questions must therefore be considered carefully to ensure a trustworthy partner is selected, to work on items which do not expose the company to unacceptable levels of risk.
